My name is Jordan Rimmer. I am the pastor of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in New Brighton, PA. I am a graduate of Grove City College with a degree in Sociology. I have a Masters of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. In 2017 I got a Doctor of Ministry through Portland Seminary of George Fox University in Semiotics and Future Studies under Doctor Leonard Sweet. I am an ordained teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Before moving to the Pittsburgh area I was the director of outreach and youth ministries at Glenwood United Methodist Church in Erie, PA.
In order to go into ministry I left a really fun job. I was the director of the Leadership and Education Institute. We were a leadership development, team building, and character development company that worked with companies, athletic teams, teachers, school kids, and at-risk youth. We used experiential methods including a low ropes course, a high ropes course, and Alpine Tower, a rock wall, portable activities, school field trips, and even gourmet cooking. I continue to do contract work, staff training, and writing in the area of experiential education.
I married my wife Mandy in 2004. We have 4 kids- Jayden, Moey, Colvin, and Eden. We enjoy movies, games, playgrounds, and road trips.
I have spoken at various workshops and training events on topics ranging including leadership, stewardship, resilience, Christian facilitation, and turn-around churches. I have also done consulting work and lead retreats with my father, Jim Rimmer. He runs Help to Grow Church Consulting.
